The highly anticipated Best Engineer 9.0 kicked off on October 30, 2023, at Government Engineering College, Barton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram. The first round took place in the college classrooms, where participants from departments including ECE, EEE, IT, Civil, and Mechanical took part in an Aptitude Test. This phase, allowed students to familiarize themselves with IEEE and showcase their skills. Nearly 400 first-year students participated, and after rigorous evaluation, a common cutoff was set, with 30 students advancing to the second round.
BEST ENGINEER 9.0
The second round, held on November 7, 2023, featured group discussions, where participants’ reasoning, teamwork, and communication skills were assessed. The competition intensified as each candidate was given 3 minutes to prepare for challenging topics, using any available resources. Out of the 30 candidates, 8 emerged as the finalists.
The third and final round, conducted on November 15, 2023, focused on HR interviews, evaluating the participants’ reasoning, leadership qualities, and professionalism. The finalists showcased remarkable talent and resilience, making the competition tough
Finally, Asiya Salim of S1 Mechanical Engineering emerged as the winner of Best Engineer 9.0, receiving a cash prize of Rs. 12,000. Additionally, of S1 was recognized with a Special Mention for his outstanding contributions and was awarded Rs. 750. The 9th edition of this prestigious competition concluded with great excitement, celebrating the skills and achievements of all participants.
