ABOUT THE CHAPTER

The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society is a professional society of the IEEE that supports the development and the exchange of scientific knowledge in the fields of robotics and automation, including applied and theoretical issues and for the maintenance of high professional standards among its members, all in consonance with the Constitution and Bylaws of the IEEE and with special attention to such aims within the Field of Interest of the Society.
- Our Mission is to foster the development and facilitate the exchange of scientific and technological knowledge in Robotics and Automation that benefits members, the profession and humanity.
- Our Vision is to be the most recognized and respected global organization in Robotics and Automation.
Being the first society of IEEE to be established in GECBH, the Robotics and Automation Society has been an inspiration to the formation of the other societies. The RAS Student Branch Chapter has conducted several events in the past year and a tutorial on Eagle CAD has been uploaded on the IEEE GECBH Webpage. The RAS Chapter at GECBH has been successful in sharing knowledge and awareness in the fields of Robotics and Automation in the college in the past years.

INTIATIVES-KNOWBOTS
The IEEE Spectrum Magazine, the flagship magazine and website of IEEE is one of the prime advantages an IEEE Member gets from his/her membership. The magazine keeps the members informed about major trends and developments in technology, engineering, and science.
Knowbots, our digital initiative which is released weekly on our Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn handles aims to condense one of the Robotics oriented articles of the month and present it in a concise and brief manner. The primary objective of Knowbots is to promote the reading of the vast and knowledgeable Spectrum Magazine amongst the members. The first edition of Knowbots was released on 18th May 2020. Knowbots was then rereleased on 17th February 2021 with a new and updated template.
